Signature Events


Something Rotten! – Arts Center of Coastal Carolina


Running through Sunday, October 27, this hilarious Broadway hit transports audiences to the Renaissance where two brothers struggle to find success in the shadow of Shakespeare. It’s a riotous mashup of musical theater, with clever humor and show-stopping numbers that will leave you laughing in the aisles.


10th Annual Jazz for All Ages Festival – Sonesta Resort


This two-day festival, held on October 13 and 14, is a celebration of the timeless appeal of jazz. Featuring some of the genre’s best local and international talent, it’s the perfect opportunity to sit back and let the smooth sounds transport you. Whether you’re a longtime jazz fan or just discovering the music, this event promises to be a highlight of the season.


Crescendo Kick-off Party with Charlton Singleton & Contemporary Flow – Shelter Cove Community Park


On Tuesday, October 15, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, enjoy an outdoor concert at Shelter Cove Community Park. Charlton Singleton & Contemporary Flow will set the stage with a mix of jazz and contemporary beats, offering an electrifying performance to kick off the Crescendo festival season in style.


This is Not: Aldwyth in Retrospect – Coastal Discovery Museum


Art lovers won’t want to miss this retrospective of Aldwyth’s work, on display from October 16 through March 23, 2025. Known for her intricate collages and assemblages, Aldwyth’s pieces challenge perception and invite reflection. Attend the reception on October 17 to hear from the artist herself and gain deeper insights into her fascinating body of work.


Symphony Under the Stars – Lowcountry Celebration Park


What could be more magical than an evening under the stars? On October 18 at 7:30 PM, Lowcountry Celebration Park will host a live symphony concert, offering the perfect setting for a night of classical music and starlit wonder. Bring a blanket, a picnic, and your love for the arts.


What the Constitution Means to Me – Lean Ensemble Theater


Running from October 31 to November 10, this critically acclaimed play by Heidi Schreck is a timely and thought-provoking exploration of the U.S. Constitution’s role in shaping the lives of women across generations. A special panel discussion with Schreck will take place on November 2 at 10 AM, giving attendees a unique opportunity to delve deeper into the play’s themes.


Hilton Head Island Lantern Parade


Culminating the festival series is the Hilton Head Island Lantern Parade on Saturday, November 23. Starting at 5:30 PM, this community-driven spectacle lights up the night as participants carry handmade lanterns from South Forest Beach to Lowcountry Celebration Park. Don’t miss the lantern-making workshops leading up to the event, offering a chance to create your own glowing masterpiece!
